There are a few things to keep in mind when you go about the process of suggesting names to your partner:

• Names based on movie characters, especially Science Fiction, don't really fly to well. So if naming your baby "Chewbacca" might sound cool to you, keep searching as your partner will tell you to get serious.
• Chosing a name starting at the front of the alphabet won't get your baby further in life. This is the ancient myth that the teacher will always pick your kid first if his name starts with the letter 'A'. Teachers have caught on to this and now randomly select their special students to stand at the front of the line.
• Make sure that it's a name that you think that YOU could live with. If you think that variations of Richard might cause your son teasing later in life, move on to something else.
• Contrary to popular belief, you also cannot put your Baby's name up for auction on someplace like eBay in hopes of getting rich off of a corporate sponsor. Who really wants a baby named "Goodyear" or "Pepsi" anyway?
• Remember that a name is just that, and even if you don't get your first choice there's always a middle name and of course you are free to nickname your baby whatever you'd like.
